I like Rhapsody. They've had almost every song I've searched for, the program is easy to use, inexpensive, and fast.

I was using LimeWire, but it was sssoo ssllooowww. Rhapsody is RealPlayer, I think, and I don't like RealPlayer. How about Napster? I want something, where I can DL and use it on any player. Believe it or not, every player has a different sound. MusicMatch has the best sound, but there so damn hard to get along with. I have 1by1, dbPoweramp, foobar, iTunes, Musicmatch, QMP, Winamp, and WMP. They all have certain qualities about them that i like, but none have it in one package. I just want something to DL some music that I can play on all of these. Thanks for the help. Keep it coming. How about Kazaa?

I've tried MusicMatch and Rhapsody (paid subscription) and had issues with both, switched to Napster and had no problems. I can play the songs with Winamp or WMP10 with no problems as well as my Creative Zen portable. Kazaa, I couldn't offer any information, I just haven't gone that route.

Just go to www.mp3search.ru

I've been using them close to a year, my brother has been close to 2 years. It's been fast, reliable AND LEGAL. I've already researched into it.

About $1.99 per album on average and about $.10 per track on average. Both in USD Currency of course. Although, I believe they support many currencies.

I use Napster and have enjoyed it with out problem 99% of the time. You will experience the occasional inability to "search" for songs, but that has only happened to me twice in over 2 years of using it. You can also join for $10 a month and will be able to hear the whole song before buying it, but I have found for me that was not needed. If you are a paid member you will also get the songs for free to upload to your mp3 player, instead of the 99 cents they usually cost. I have found that if a title is not available there, it is usually not available anywhere except maybe Circuit City music online. Hope that helps.

What kind of bitrate are these services currently providing? So far I've avoided them due to the low bit rates offered back when I checked into them.
I've spent a lot of time ripping my LP collection as well as my CDs and I can definitely tell the difference between 128, 160 and 192. I always use a constant bit rate (CBR) of 320 to copy my CD's although when I first started I had to use 192. Anything less than 192 sounds garbled to me and 192 doesn't do a good job with bass. Lately i've been ripping to FLAC which is lossless and it's hard to tell the difference between the CD and the computer. Due to file size I have a hard time believeing you could get anything better than 128 out of the services, but if you can I'd definitely be interested.

Sorry Mike, it is 128.

I agree, I've been using their services for well over a year with great results. And you can get any bitrate

If you want high quality music downloads. Go to musicgiants.com. Link

Their music is as high as 1100kbps. Hi-def audio, baby! I never downloaded anything there, since it probably wouldn't matter on my crappy speakers, but I bet it sounds great.

The best way to download illegal music is bittorrent. The best legal is any place that has reasonable prices and the music you want. I've used iTunes for a few songs and cds, but usually I just rip from my own cds.

I tested them...I've been wanting Elvin Bishop's "Struttin My Stuff" album for a long time. My LP is waayyy too scrateched for a decent rip. No Joy, but it looks interesting. Thanks for the link.
